My name is Michael Tira. I believe in education.
Let me elaborate. I studied Education, History and Mathematics at the University of San Diego. I graduated in May 2015 with a BA in History and a Single Subject Teaching Credential. I have taught history and mathematics at the high school and middle school levels. I am currently a Math Teacher at O'Farrell Charter School in San Diego, CA.
To me, education is one of the most effective societal equalizers. By this, I mean that education affords anyone the opportunity to succeed in life. I wholeheartedly believe in learning in this way. As an educator, I believe in boundless opportunities for success. However, I believe that it is up to individual students to seize those opportunities.
As an individual, I enjoy traveling, reading, spending time with friends and family. Most of all, I enjoy the fruitful labor of teaching.
