I wanted to take this time, as I sit on a rather uncomfortable chair at the San Diego Airport, to discuss my thankfulness for certain things in my life.
Obviously, I’m thankful for my family and friends. I feel like it almost goes without saying, but I feel that it is important to repeat my thankfulness for the people who make me who I am. They’ve truly made a difference in my life; even more than any of them understand.
I am eternally thankful for my job. As I tell my students, not everyone gets to wake up with a feeling of raw excitement and giddiness the way I do about my job. It is truly a blessing to be able to truly throw myself into my work with the unbridled passion and thirst for betterment that I possess. They say that when you do what you love, going to your job never feels like work. I feel that way.
I am thankful to be the way I am. Despite my shortcomings, I truly love the person I am. I thirst for knowledge and betterment. I understand the delineation between work and leisure. I constantly push myself and others to be better.
In summation, we have much to be thankful for this holiday season. I have more than most to be thankful for.
Thank you.
